Sukhoi SU-27

Sukhoi SU-27

The highly maneuverable SU-27 is considered to be one of the most advanced opposing fighters ever built. The SU-27 “Flanker” front-line fighter aircraft was designed and manufactured by the Sukhoi company in the 1980’s as a high performance fighter with a fly-by-wire control system.

Operated by countries that are generally known as a possible threat to the US and allies, the SU-27 is an advanced fourth-generation aircraft with fighter capabilities that are somewhat still unknown to the US and NATO forces. The aircraft is equipped to operate autonomously in combat over hostile territory, in escort of deep-penetration strike aircraft roles and in the suppression of enemy airfields. The Sukhoi fighter provides general air defense in cooperation with ground and airborne warning and control stations (AWACS).

The SU-27UB is a two-seat training version that will be utilized in DACT exercises by Tactical Air Defense Services. TADS will be the first commercial company in the world to operate the SU-27 fighter for training purposes. TADS provides the ability for US Forces and NATO allies to train with this type of aircraft, which is extremely rare.
