The MiG-29 "Fulcrum" was designed to be a single-seat supersonic air superiority fighter. Originally introduced in the mid 1980’s, the MiG-29 Fulcrum was the Soviet response to the American F-15 Eagle. The mission of the MiG-29 is to destroy hostile air targets within radar coverage limits as well as ground targets using unguided weapons in visual flight conditions.
The basic MiG-29 is capable of limited air-to-ground operations and in advanced versions has been optimized to attack both stationary and moving targets with precision guided munitions. At closer ranges such as 5 to 10 miles, the MiG-29 has superior maneuverability and weapons sighting.
This aircraft is widely known as the Russian main front-line fighter, however is also flown by Iran, Syria, Malaysia, Yemen, Sudan, India, Afghanistan, Romania, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, North Korea and Cuba.
TADS’ adversary combat training will utilize fully functional MiG aircraft to prepare pilots for real combat situations.
